In a large mind map, it sometimes be difficult to find a piece of information that you are looking for. As a result, Minder has support for search within your mind map. Search is performed on text stored within the mind map, meaning that Minder can search for text within a node, a connection, a callout and within any note. Search is performed dynamically as search characters are entered into the search entry field, allowing you to more quickly drill down to the mind map item that you are looking for.

In the match results, Minder will show you a sample of the text that matched your criteria along with the item type (Node, Connection, Callout) and the stored text type (Title, Note) that was matched on.

To make the matched item the currently selected item, simply click or use the keyboard to select the item. This will cause the search interface to hide, the selected item will be selected and placed into view within the mind map canvas.

Search Criteria

In addition to simply entering text, you can control what item types (Node, Connection, Callout), what text types (Title, Note), fold state (Folded, Unfolded), and task type (Task, Non-task). Unchecking any of these search criteria boxes will limit what is searched for.

Additionally, you may specify to the search interface whether you want to search the current mind map or any other mind maps currently opened within Minder.
