Any there any recommendations for known accurate smart plugs (120V) that are ZigBee-based? Looking over the current recommendations, most of those look WiFi only. I've been looking at the Sengled models, but don't know how accurate they are. I'd love to contribute a light or two to the database if I can get the right setup! |

I have added all used measured devices of the whole library here. Maybe that helps a bit. @davidski I am not familiar with 120V plugs. I have used Shelly Plug S for measurements myself. I did choose for Wifi because most of these plug allow to realtime request new values through an API. Zigbee of Zwave based plugs have limits on update frequency to not overload the network, so it's more of a hassle to get that working correctly. |

I am trying to contribute and have two different Vocolinc plugs. The PM5 refresh in a second, great for measuring kettle. VP3 tends to refresh in 1 or 2 minutes, which is useless for many purposes. So I use PM5 but when I connect even two bulbs, it starts measuring around 25% brightness with the minimum of 5W. So useless for powercalc measurements. I measure through hass (light+plug). @bramstroker I see that you have measured even with Shelly PM1. I received minimum of about 2.6W with it. The script ended with error because it received too many zeroes. What are you doing differently? |

Btw for reference I've deduplicated some measure devices in the library and made a count per device. This can be handy as a reference. {

That's what I did. I used Shelly 1PM connected to home assistant and bulb connected to HA, then I used the script and pointed it to both devices through hass. I ordered TP-Link P110, we will see the difference. Also have Tuya plug on the way from China and if that not work, I will buy Shelly Plug S. It is a bit expensive, so I decided to try with cheaper ones first. Btw some devices in your db have standby power consumption in two digist like 0.34W. Shelly Plug S can measure on two digits precisness? |

So I bought TAPO P110. Measurement tool does not provide direct connection over IP and when I use it through HASS, it returns an error: 2022-12-06 14:07:09,097 [INFO] Using 0.0W as dummy load value During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred: Traceback (most recent call last): |

I have abandoned using any plug for doing measurements, not sure they are of the caliber for anything but casual measurements I have had one of the Expandable 6 Channel ESP32 Energy Meter Main Board from So far so good |

https://github.com/bramstroker/homeassistant-powercalc/wiki/Contributing-new-lights#preparation
Currently lists "TODO" for providing recommendations.
Out of the box, the measurement tool lists:
as well as manual, ocr, and generic via HASS.
I had trouble with my Tuya plugs being not very sensitive.
I has success with a TP Link Tapo P110 + the HACS store plugin for it + configuration via the 'HASS' driver.
Shelly - which model is recommended? https://shelly.cloud/products/shelly-plug-smart-home-automation-device/ ?
What else works for people?
Can we generate this from the library of bulbs?
